Q: How do you feel about the "enhanced" students described on pages 7 to 8 of chapter 1 of Radical Evolution?
If there were enhanced students aroung me, I think I would feel very uncertain about myself. I would also feel somwhat hopeless as they are able to do so much more than what I am capable of doing. However, these enhanced people are inhumane and not natural. Therefore, I feel that these people should not be created as it will lead to problems when comparisons are made between natural humans and enhanced humans. Also, I think enhanced humans would feel uncertain about themselves too as they have qualities of a human and a robot, creating them to question what they are.
I didn't think about the uncertainty that the "enhanced" might feel about themselves. That's an interesting viewpoint.

ReplyDeleteI read it to remember the movies of robots which happen to have their own identity, like AI or I robots. I don't really know that these kind of things really have emotions, but if they have, they will be suffering from their uncertainty.
ReplyDeleteI understand and agree with your idea. I like the way you see things through "identity" and connect the topics with your self.
ReplyDeleteOMG you should read "Never Let me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro. It's about cloned children who are created to donate parts of their bodies to sick humans. It clearly describes how these "created" people feel about their uncertainty.
ReplyDeleteTheres a pretty famous movie called "Blade Runner" thats about clones and their identity. Im going to borrow it out and watch it tonight :) lol
ReplyDeletebut ill look for those movies too shun x) thnx.
and ill look for that book too masashi!! :DD
